On Dreams

Your DreamsPsychologists believe that dreams are about your unconscious mind unloading in symbolic form and that they do not have any real significance, besides a way of reflecting on the days events. However dreams are far from being as simple as that…

If you cannot remember your dreams, you could be: stressed, not in touch with yourself in terms of self-awareness and awareness of your spiritual journey; driven strongly by your outer self, your ego; or blocked off because of disbelief in its importance, among other reasons.

If you remember your dreams, you are active and advancing on the psychic and spiritual level; you are in touch withyourself, aware and interested in the pursuit of self-knowledge and self-discovery.

Dreams are like inner motivations that are producing pictures about the outer events, when we are wondering how and why inconsistencies occur. I like to refer to them as coming from the pool of the unconscious that you could liken it to say, being in a forest here’s an example; Debris falling into the forest lake is part of the normal forest
environment. Anything outside of that, say a trapped animal falling anddecaying in the lake, would be outside the normal. It’s a little like that with the unconscious mind it will communicate images according to the situation at hand, by presenting pictures that will shed light on a current issue, so the images may be complex, obscure and detailed in order that we will pay attention to them, but can almost never be taken literally.

They have their own language and themessage is to your spirit from your higher self, a bit like clues to inform youhow you are going, so you can arrive at the answers that help you do better. So the more dreams you remember, the more information you have to work with and the faster you can progress and learn and evolve, getting clearer understanding
each time.

Freeing Up Your Mental Energy

Mental energy has to do with what you hold dear and what is ongoing in your
mind…Generally we forget that mental energy frequently becomes blocked and this
happens due to being on one track all the time. Whether its with the way you are performing, teaching, or being with friends.

The famous person who opened other peoples eyes on how stuck one can become was: Jill Bolte Taylor in her famous U-Tube Video on “A stroke of Insight”…where she ‘had to have’ a stroke to open up her eyes to how her left brain hemisphere was completely out of balance with the right brain hemisphere of her brain (a stroke that took her 8years to recover from) a brilliant delivery on TED-talks where this now famous psychiatrist explains in detail how she recovered and how a spiritual insight opened up her eyes to the reality of life itself…

MENTAL STAGNATION

Is mostly due to being disconnected in some way. The ‘absent minded professor’ image is famous for how disconnected they can be. I have found that most males that I work with are totally disconnected from their feelings. The more disconnected a person is the longer
I have found they have been in denial about a situation in their life and have avoided facing it. As happened to Jill Bolte Taylor’s “stroke of insight” experience, that paralyzed her brain which took her 8yrs to recover from. Another way of seeing disconnection is seeing it as the flip side of the same coin as denial, which generally leads to stagnation. And unfortunately stagnation over time will only lead to some illness within the physical body, in one way or another.

I was at a talk once where a professor was addressing a packed audience of several hundred people from a stage, and said that; for a professor, the body simply serves to carry the head, he was making a joke on how disconnected professors really are referring to himself as well…

Bringing New Energy Into Your Home

Bring New Enery Into You HomeBringing new energy into your home by bringing a nice flower pot that brightens up your room or two is very refreshing, as is putting some nice crystals in the rooms also, as long as you are not cluttering up the room.

However the first rule of thumb is; before you bring any new thing into your home, you must take something out. This can be easy to do as long as you develop the mentality of automatic de-cluttering. This is essential to keep your home or home office free from
stagnated energy. Stagnated energy can be very draining on your ‘mind space’ and prevents people from feeling inspired and progressing forward in their life. This applies to buying anything including clothes and furniture. Try and make it a rule to eliminate ‘an old’ before replacing the new.

Everything has energy including furniture and clothes. We will walk into a room or someone’s home and feel either comfortable or not very comfortable and most times people will visit certain places or avoid other places because of this very factor, sometimes
quite unconsciously…

TIPS ON DE-CLUTTERING

Anything from the past that has been there from a previous relationship even clothes you used to wear, you will find will have an opposite feeling to ‘feeling up’. Best to move this on, you will find asap you move that object on, you will have opened up a space for the new. Life abhors a vacuum and an opportunity usually comes up quite soon to fill
that space, but you first need to empty the space. Try it test it out…Hallways and walkways need to be kept free of things in the way, it all obstructs your daily energy, by removing it you will notice how much “freer” it will feel.

Energy is movement and some things do need to be move on especially when they’ve been with you for prolonged periods of time. That’s how you know, its time to de-clutter, hence the word spring-cleaning.

What Depletes Your Energy

What Depletes Your Energy When I go out on my walks I frequently see many people especially in their 20 – 30ys jogging. There’s a beautiful cliff walk overlooking the ocean not far from me, and especially in the morning its usually full of joggers. When we jog, naturally everything in the body is
working at a very fast rate including the blood circulation, and many people think that they can eat whatever they like and a simple jog or a weights program at the gym, will counteract body fat.

What people forget however is that whatever you eat no matter what, gets broken down and then circulates throughout the entire system much faster when you do any exercise. So if your eating lots of meat and fatty foods or fast foods especially foods you know are
not very good for you; then go out for your exercise or jog, whatever you have
digested, that residue is forced to circulate through your system at an
accelerated pace. This is why people may not feel very energized and put off exercising or get tired after their exercise….be wise consider what you are doing to your body long term….

SOME CLUES TO CONSIDER

If you’re feeling a little uncomfortable or tired as you jog or tired especially after dinner consider what could be the food you ate that may be causing you the discomfort.
Sometimes its not very noticeable but there is one rule of thumb you might want
to remember: there are some foods that ‘extract energy’ and some foods that ‘add energy’. The foods that will extract your energy are bread, meat, salty and preserved foods. The more you eat any of these the more your body needs to labor to digest it.

Another thing worth considering;  peoplewho really want to gain stamina and muscle avoid eating meat. The biggest muscle building foods are greens and fish. Arnold Schwarzenegger was quoted once as saying that one of the fastest ways to accessing energy was by eating large quantities of broccoli.  Arnold Schwarzenegger – IMDb

Tips On Getting Unstuck

Getting Unstuck  You’ve seen how people look when they’re worn out from a conference, or demanding bosses at work or at home, you can see it on their faces, drained sometimes empty looking. And to alleviate this feeling they will instead, go to the pub or sit in front of TV, then wonder why they feel tired the following day. Majority of things that cause this dullness in people is being stuck in life. Tony Robbins used to say if you’re feeling stuck and not moving forward whether that is in a relationship, work, or financial situation
consider how this situation will be next year and then in 10yrs time, then in another 20 years time.

This way of looking ahead will give you perspective on how the situation stands in reality and what they’re prepared to do about it rather than the situation progressively getting worse.

A famous quote says: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting
different results is entertaining insanity….

People say if only I won some money it would change all that, but if you have a mind set operating inside of you and the feeling of ‘stuck’ or’ lack’ is there, it will not go away with more money. Money will alleviate it for a little while but will not eliminate a feeling that is there from some unresolved cause.

FREEING UP

I used to notice that if I wanted to resolve something I’d make an intention of getting an answer by the end of a walk… At first I’d find the mind just chattering on and on but then I’d start to breathe the air and just enjoy the feeling of being alive, or remember some
simple things I was grateful for. The focus I found would shift and by the end of the walk a more refreshed feeling replaced the stagnation, giving me a little insight with a new perspective on where I was at…

Listening to TED talks http://www.ted.com/talks/browselifts your mind to many ideas and avenues, and by listening to any of theeducational talks presented there may just give you an idea of how you can begin to shift something that needs changing in your life.

Self Care

Is personal health maintenance…? It is any activity of an individual, family or community, with the intention of improving or restoring health, or treating or
preventing disease.

Self-care includes all health decisions people (as individuals or consumers) make for themselves and their families to get physically and mentally fit. Self-care is exercising to maintain physical fitness and good mental health. It is also eating well and self-medicating, practicing good hygiene and avoiding health hazards
such as smoking and drinking to prevent ill health. Self-care is also taking care of minor ailments, long-term conditions, or one’s own health after discharge from secondary and tertiary health care.

Individuals do self-care, and experts and professionals support self-care to enable
individuals to do enhanced self-care. BELOW ARE SOME TIPS FOR EASY SELF CARE
METHODS…

 TIPS ON RE-GAINING YOUR ENERGY

Frequently I’ll ask a client; who do you want be I charge of you when you’re 70 and 80, you or a doctor or a hospital? Once a accountant sat in front of me and had to consider that
question and I sat and waited for him to respond for a whole 15mins, he couldn’t find an answer and, as he was debating the question he was wonderingthat it was normal to anticipate that at some stage a hospital would take careof him since, he could afford it.

Subconsciously many people believe that its normal to think this way and automatically assume this is how they’ll end up. I saw a documentary not long ago how in London some special tests were being conducted focusing on one person at a time who were living a fast lifestyle of clubbing drinking and living off fast foods.

The tests from one such individual showed that his liver was that of a 49yr old male, his heart of a 38yr old and his kidneys of 40yr old. The male was 26 years old. There were several of these documentaries and each week the statistics were similar from one male to another.

We generally say; well I’m nowhere near that bad, but I’ve met many executives who are busy meeting clients and do discussions over lunch. One lunch after another and slowly the build upaccumulates and becomes similar to the fast lane 25yr olds; the only difference
is the build up is slower.

When people don’t take note of their progressing habits and correct them earlier, the habit takes over and they unwittingly give in, to an internal dialogue that excuses them and they don’t stop to consider how their body has changed. Most people put it down to success, or a busy lifestyle or just busy making money.

CONSIDER THESE SIMPLE STEPS

Here are some simple steps to take care of yourself, start by going to yoga, just one class a week will start you off, but its important to stick with just one class a week. YOU will see that it not only helps but you begin to feel lighter and freer and you’ll feel that somehow
the burdens seem to lessen without any good reason.

Doing yoga allows the mind to stop for that hour, and gives the body a sense of relief to connect to its internal mind-body-intelligence and have a natural solution to what ever you may be facing. This happens without trying and without you making this deliberate…you
will find what is really taking place is, you will slowly begin to tune into a much higher level of info that resides within yourself just by giving yourself the time and space for that silence to gather and for your internal wisdom to emerge and present itself…
